South Korean director King Sang-Man’s coming to FEST to present his new film Tenor, which was partially shot in Serbia.
The film is based on the life of gifted tenor Bae Jae-cheol, who overcomes thyrotrophic cancer and painful rehabilitation to continue his musical career.
Due to budget problems, it took six years for Sang-Man to finish the film. The shoot lasted 18 months and took place in Korea, Japan and Serbia. This is the first South Korean film shot in Serbia, with landmarks in Serbia posing as the German city of Saarbrucken, where Bae spent the golden years of his career. Starring in the film are Serbian actors Natasa Tapuskovic, Dragan Micanovic and Marko Stojanovic.
